Nathan broke Willow Springs 7 year old BSR record this weekend in this car turning a blazing 1:32:3 in Saturday's qual session. He won both Cup races too....

Oh and I'm pretty sure the car is sold....

Default Results

jrgordonsenior--

1:32.3? Really? We must be looking at different results. I'm looking here:

https://www.race-monitor.com/Results/Race/28956

The best time I see for Nathan Johnson is 1:33.421 (qualifying). Three guys had faster qualifying times. The fastest was Anders Hainer at 1:32.239.

The track record, according to this:

https://porscheclubracing.org/track-records-2/

is 1:32.926 by Alex Bermudez on 2/7/2015.

So Hainer set the new track record (by 0.687), not Johnson. And Hainer was the only one below 1:32.926.

Johnson was 0.495 off the old record, and 1.182 off Hainer's new record.

In the cup races, one was won by Hainer (Johnson was third), and one was won by Bermudez (Johnson was fourth).

Where are you looking at results?

Sunday Orange qualifying: http://www.mylaps.com/en/classification/3488796

In the cup races Nathan was 3rd on Saturday and 1st on Sunday. These are the official results.

Krokodil--

On mylaps.com, Johnson is listed (as the only entrant) in class "BSR`". Seven other guys are in another class, "BSR".

What is class "BSR`", and how is it different than BSR (Spec Boxster)? Are the cars different?

Or is it just a typo on mylaps.com?

If a typo, then he did finish in the positions you said.

In any case, the car didn't do 1:32.3. Best was 1:32.830 during qualifying on Sunday. Which breaks the old record (1:32.926), so the car is very fast. But Hainer was faster still, at 1:32.239.

So it looks like a great car. I hope the new owner is very happy with it. I was the new owner for a few hours, but Dan convinced me to let him build another car for me. I hope it turns out as good as this one.

Greg,

BSR and BSR' are the same. It is just a typo in MyLaps.

Anders did run a 1:32.239, but it is not a POC track record as he did not pay to enter the Time Attack event, which is a requirement to set an official track record. We can argue whether it should be, but as of now it is.

Nathan's 1:32.830 is the new official POC track record (I now administer the records).

Anyway, I am not sure what you are getting at. All the BSRs are pretty close in performance, unless it is a cheater car (they are out there), and the times set by Anders and Nathan are a result of skill and a willingness to adjust the car (too many just set and forget).

Cheers,

Greg I think Duane correctly addressed my error above. Regardless, the car is very fast under Nathan's guidance and it is sold.

Dan's cars are all built to the same specifications. He's probably built 50 BSR's over the past 8 years including mine that still holds the unofficial WSIR track record at 1:31:73 back in Dec. 08' when we ran on R888's and were 50lbs heavier (I think I got it right but you can check it)....

Hey Everyone,

I recently decided to sell this car. I'm asking the same price as Dan $26K with the carbon OMP seat.

Since I bought it, the only thing I added a Longacre steering wheel hook. (all black wheels not the silvers ones in the back like the pictures) I have only been to one track event at Daytona for the PCA club race, but I was running DE. (Best lap was 2:16.33 with amateur driver and first time at Daytona)

I have decided not to get my racing license for club racing due to time constraints with work, family, etc...

Currently stored at Zotz Racing in FL.

I'll respectfully decline offers lower than my asking price right now because I'm already out the transport and storage cost on this... my loss, your gain. Also, I paid Dan extra to put in a 997 gauge cluster to have oil pressure readings.

PM for more info or questions. Thanks
