Im still running :-)
Had lots of little issues but they all got fixed.

My only chance to win this weekend is if I can get Clarke drunk enough to spin...

What is the legality related to rod bearing journaling to use larger rod bearing or crank work to increase oil flow and engine longevity?

I haven't even got race mine yet and it looks like the engine has to come apart. Sigh...

So I'm thinking as long as we're in there. I'm guessing no, but I've seen an E car or two for sale that have had these mods.

If your engine is a 3.0l don't change anything, use the gt3 rod bearings 99610312194.

The 3.0 crankshaft, rods, and rod bolts are more than adequate for a stock class 3.0.

Nothing wrong with using ARP rod bolts for extra insurance.

The GT3 rod bearings are a direct drop in?

On my last car we added oil squirters to the case and cross drilled/knife edged the crank. Assuming all that is illegal?

Yes, the rod bearings are a direct fit.

3.0l already have piston squirters.

You can't do any internal work I the that is not stock, so no knife edging, boat tailing, etc.

With a 7000 rpm limit none of that is necessary.

My SC engine that I rebuilt is all stock, except for EBS racing valve springs and ti retainers.

That engine has 6 race seasons on it and I almost always shifted it between 6800—7000 rpm. Still has great compression and leak down numbers.

Missed shifts are the killer, if you take of your engine they last a long time.

So no smaller journals....saw a nice car from a considered to be good and fast E class shop with smaller journals

Factory bearings are ok, including gt3 but clevite are bullet proof

Any of u E guys have a 3.0L cranks with a spun bearing, message me....I'll buy it

Join us Peter, it's a lot of fun.
I did get a pretty nice trophy out of it.

You're the richest person I know, so park one of these under the tent and go racing. Just leave that ricer thing on the trailer and the truck home. Just parachute in :-) I like it.
