These aero kits are not quite what I expected. They remind me of when F1 had winglets sprouting from every possible surface. I suspect we're going to see a few more carbon fiber bits and pieces on the tracks this year....
I was hoping the aero kits would make the cars look better this year....

Didn't think it was possible to make the Dallara even uglier, but unfortunately I was wrong... and there will even MORE long yellows this year with all the debris flying around after the first turn.
First the Chevy and then the Honda, if I didn't know better I'd think it was all a photoshop joke!! (and there is a really good one over at autosport- don't know how to import it...)

It's sad. I was looking forward to seeing them at Barber. I expect they will appear even uglyer in person. Aero downforce has never improved racing. It is not relevant to the cars we drive. I say limit downforce to a small amount (just enough to make the cars safe) equal to all cars and then let the designers decide how they want to achieve it.

Is that really the most efficient way to make downforce?
I thought the whole multi-wing/winglet/flip was done in F1 to operate within the rules package. Since Indycar makes the rules, why the convoluted wing package?

This looks like it was designed by a committee that doesn't actually like race cars or know anything about the history or racing.
The sad thing is many things we see in F1 are due to regulations, and for some reason the designs trickle down to other series. I just wish they would re-think this car... I want to like it, but I just can't...

Went by the Barber test, while they weren't the most beautiful things I've ever seen, they don't look as bad as the photos released. I think the head on shots of the wings make them disproportionately large.
