Timeline from driving instructor to racing coach....
it is getting kind of boring in here, so I might as well ask a question that I always wanted to ask.....
What does it take to become a racing/driving coach?

BTW a friend's 23 year old son bought himself a Boxster yesterday and will be heading to his new job in San Francisco.
Oh to be 23 and moving to CA in a Porsche.
$15k for a 2004 non-S w/40k miles. Perfect condition.

I went from my first Green DE to Instructor in 4 months and had my first private client early the following spring.
And I shuffle steer...
Were I only half as handsome as VR, natty and bright as the ProCoach or as fast as virtually everyone else around here, I'd probably have more clients.

that would kill it for me.
Most want a coach that will start them off on the right foot and not allow them to re-enforce bad habits. "Do as I say, not as I do" , only goes so far. Some do and others teach.... some do both, some don't know the difference.
the trick is finding a coach that knows both.

I happen to be perfectly adept at the "do as I say, not as I do" thing.
Really, I am.
I will not, for instance, allow my students to drink near the amount of beer I consume during track days and tend to cut them off after six or so.
