Yes Scott...you suck, but we love you just the same.
BTW, how much of a hassle is your first gear (and what ratio is it) in the paddock and pre-grid? You run a tiny clutch also, right. Wondering....

Up to now, I have been running a 225mm clutch setup using a stage 2 KEP aluminum pressure plate with vapor deposited steel friction surface. The clutch disc is a 6 puck style from Clutchnet. The steel coating has not be up to the task. You can't really slip the clutch like you might do with a street setup.
So, I have installed a 212mm clutch setup from Jerry Woods Enterprises that overall weighs less than the Kennedy setup. The pressure plate is actually a little heavier than the Kennedy but the 4 puck clutch weighs a lot less than the 6 puck used with the Kennedy. The friction surface on the JWE pressure plate is all steel. So it should ladt a lot longer.
We'll see!

Fellows, this is what I said. Not disparaging anyone, just pointing out that I have seen and measured shift duration that's really, really good, period.
I said above that the old stuff WAS "less than optimal (readlder) equipment."
But I also said that IF a driver was sympathetic, knowledgeable about how these things go together and work, honed the timing of their hands and feet, that they shift PDQ...

now, you say, "PDQ"? yes, that's a big difference to the "same" as you said before, or as a few others have mentioned.
no irony, just truth. if you notice, my posts and replys are about facts, not insults or disparaging comments.
Peter,
Look how slow Leh is shifting the RSR. He is being deliberate on both upshifts and downshifts. He is not shifting super fast because the 915 just doesn't like it. Sure, you can do fast upshifts but you will put a lot of wear on the synchros. If he chose to double de-clutch the downshifts, he could downshift faster, but there is no real point.
So, again, my original point is accurate and still stands. Or is the fact that I say you can't shift a 915 as fast as a more modern gearbox because I suck?

I don't think double clutching would increase speed of anything. certainly would address the wear aspect, but even that is debatable if you fully understand the dynamics of what happens in a fast shift (up or down)

Video Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?x-yt-cl=84411374&v=ZswRheergMU&x-yt-ts=1421828030 You can shift a well set up 915 plenty fast.

Certainly not all the time, but we all know the truth. A cornered Kibort can get rather mouthy.
Oh the irony, indeed.
