Trailex Enclosed trailer question

Trailex Enclosed trailer question
Hi, I currently have a trailex 8045 and am considering upgrading to a 2006 enclosed CTE 1841. Curious if anyone knows the difference between the CTE 1841 and the newer CTE 84180.
It looks like the 84180 is about 1,300 lbs and the random posts I have seen on the 1841 put it at 1900. Seems like a big difference and I am wondering why. Would anyone have specs for the 1841?
The trailer I am looking at has the following options:
Passenger side door in addition to the driver side door
Inside height is 5.5 feet so I guess it has the 1ft height extension
Aluminum wheels
Spare mounts up on the ceiling
Warn winch (has a cable to hook to the tow vehicle battery
No tire rack so I will need to figure something out for this.
It is being serviced at a dealer I trust.
Price is 13,000
Does this seem reasonable? Does anyone know how this compares to the newer model?
Many thanks ...... My first post

Not sure of the difference, but random posts stating weights may be a result of options. Height, width, and length can all be added to base trailer design. I assume each extra door adds weight (frame and hardware). Other options would add weight too (tire rack, floor storage, etc).
I have often wondered if the weight tag was a base model or an actual factory build weight post ordered options.
I have emailed Trailex before about my "used" trailer and they have been very helpful, so you may just ask the source.

Sounds like a very decent price for an older Trailex.
You can always procure from Trailex the materials for the tire rack and have it installed. The only tricky part is welding the plates that hold the rack to the side walls and not cause heat damage to the side wall paneling. It would be nice to install a trailer battery next to the winch and run it from there but in most (if not all) cases, you will have the tow vehicle hooked up when you load your car into the trailer. Trailer weights are quoted notoriously wrong. The only way to know is to actually weigh it.
The are great trailers, well made and they hold their value.
My $0.02.

Very decent price for a Trailex enclosed. With proper care they last forever.
My '99, which is a good bit narrower than the newer models, had documentation saying 1800 lbs but with factory mounted winch, tire rack and belly box weighs just under 2000 lbs.
I'd kind of doubt any of their enclosed car haulers weighed much less.

Call Trailex and they'll provide the "Skinny". $13k is reasonable and finding a used enclosed it not too easy. I bought 1 a couple of years ago for a similar price that was well equipped with 72" of ceiling height. Good luck.

I have a 2003 1841 -- also never weighed it. If you get any info from Trailex re: the weights would you mind posting back up here?
P.S. great trailers -- money well spent vs an open unit if you have a decent tow vehicle and place to store it.

Thanks for the advice and comments, I sent an email to trailex.
My guess is that about 1800 is likely correct. I am also going to ask if the trailer place has the ability to weigh it.
If the open I know when I enquired about the 84180 a few years back they told me about 1,300 lbs, but for what it is worth, I kinda scratched my head because I know they also said my open 8045 was like 975 and I just kept thinking: walls, roof, that big driver side door, that big rear door, the 2 small doors up front, a full floor rather than the open floor on the 8045, a physically longer bed and longer overall trailer, can that really only be 300 lbs more.
Mine has a few more options so I am sure it is more. I will let you know what trailex says, but I will probably try to get it weighed as well so I get the tongue weight right.
I apreciate the comments

I recently purchased a 2008 84180 with a winch and battery. Needed to get it weighed as the title didnt have its weight. Had weighted with the battery and winch and a couple of tires on the tire rack and came in at 2500 lbs, which sounded high to me. As for price, I paid slightly more than you note, but the Trailex is the Cadillac of trailers and hold value extremely well. Sounds like a great price and opportunity.

I spoke with Carl and he was very helpful. The primary difference in the trailers is the distance between fender wells (80 vs 84 inches). He said they made the newer version larger for the GT3RS so I guess that is off the Christmas list. It should not be a problem for my car given that my open trailer was only 80 inches as well.
He said weight with a 1 foot roof extension should be 2,100 so 2500 with a winch, battery and tires doesn't sound too crazy (presumably with some rounding on both ends). I think I will be at 2,700 plus 3,100 for the car puts me at 5,800. Assuming I can keep tongue weight to 800lbs or less I should be fine with the Armada.
Appreciate the help and advice.
