I'm going to try and make it up Saturday morning for the GT race. Wow, 524 total entries...
PS: Will I have any trouble getting in the paddock?....

That's a great question. I was ousted by my buddy, (guess, manufacturer brand is thicker than friendship) so, no mustang, the Porsche has to sleep alone. I think im in the turn 5 paddock. its supposed to be crazy.
I think you will need to park on the hill and just walk or ride a bike in. shouldn't be that much trouble.

524 entries, all using sonoco gas. what's that , like a 150,000 lbs of green house gases?? so, im bringing the NOS to add to the pollution party!

I there now. I don't think it is too bad but I'm in a garage on pit row. space is tight. T5 is a dirt paddock for some. That's rough! I feel sorry for those guys. Not sure if or where guest parking is. You can drive in up the A road heading to main paddock. You will be stopped just past the bridge and a guy is directing traffic. I "think" he has people park in the dirt hill on the right. If you have a zone 1 pass you can drive in the main paddock.

Is it free/open to spectators? If not, where do I get a ticket?

I was going to drive up Friday afternoon to watch a friend of mine race..

You can find a link to tickets on the Laguna Seca website: http://www.mazdaraceway.com

That redirects you to Ticket Master. Friday General admission and Paddock is $25, parking might be extra. There's a hut on the way down to the paddock which might be selling tickets.

That would make you in GT-2, #119. I'll look out for you. We have no one else to cheer for in GT-2.

So how does the 2 days of qualifying work? Is it points?

Is it determined by your one single best time over the 3 days? My FM guy, Bruce Lawrence, is out there right now. Looks like he's P1 in Q1 for FM.

Yep. 3 qualifying sessions total. Best time from all three. If weather is a factor as it has been in the past it will kill off a session. You have to be on your game all three session if the weather is good. As one session will usually be a bit quicker from air and track temps.

A big chunk of these guys have never run the track so Q3 will be a make or break for many of them as they get used to the track and dial it in.
