Does it matter? They win, and not just once...
They're the ONLY team in the series permitted by Porsche to purchase a car identical in specifications to the works entered cars. Derrick Walker (who dates back to Holbert days) runs rhe team.

Three Wheelin'
The only thing that bothers me about them is that they advertise so much with their 911 race car, yet refuse to actually produce a sticky tire for the 997, 991, or GT3 (meaning 19" or greater). I just won't take them seriously until they get serious about making good track tires. It's a shame, too, because there is such a void for the 20" (and even 19") market. The R888s only come in 19", and for 20" we only have super expensive options with Michelin, Pirelli, and Dunlop - none of which are even as good as the R888 on the track.

Hi peter. No it does not matter at all! I was not commenting disparagingly at all,, quite the contrary. I was highlighting a superb achievement without massive werks support. Bravo, frank

No worries, Gene! Didn't mean to sound snippy. It is amazing what they've done.

I think it's rather funny that they regularly do better than the factory teams. I don't really like the fact that they (Porsche) have brought extra cars to win the constructors by numbers instead of actual performance.
That being said, the BOP is very annoying. You can't tell who's really fast when they basically choose who's going to win every time.
I've also been wondering if Falken were going to get into the performance/R-comp tire market soon. They have clearly caught up to Michelin in performance. They have to have something up their sleeve.
