very interesting stuff there. abvoe would be my bet on how it shakes out.
tcb, tca out, gone from the gt/gta/gtcup and gts weekends.
id go tc and gts on track same time. some variants in speed but GTS would be the fastest group out there.
GT (GTA) and GT Cup on track same time. 2 run groups. fast cars, lesser variances in speeds which might smoothen out things a bit.
id imagine porsche is behind some of this, and maybe ultimately they'll move the imsa cup from imsa to wc. that woul dbe a coup for wc.
neat happenings.

Statement says .....cars will be raced as delivered. 991 cups are delivered with PFC calipers, rotors and pads. Last time I looked WC had Stoptech as a Sponsor. Wonder how this is all going to shake out.

I think this is a smart move on WC's part.....introduce new racers to the WC series without them having to buy a $500K FIA GT3 car....
PMNA was certainly supportive of this as they had to be to provide the allocation of the cars.....
TC/TCA/TCB will go with Trans Am.
GT/GTA/GTC will have their own run group and be separate from GTS for most of next year, except Rd Am and maybe COTA (if they go there).
All these moves are very positive for WC as they continue to grow the series.
Splitting GT and GTS is a huge benefit as the races will now have more yellow free racing....that's what the fans want, as do the drivers/teams.

I also dont know about the reduction of yellows, as at Sonoma, it was a few bad apples that ruined that race in GTS, but at Road America, it was the GT group that caused much of the loss of track tiime with sillly driving errors.
I agree, it will be interesting to see how this all shakes out.

looks like a move to GT3 spec machinery in TUSC GTD might be forcing this move too:

Love WC and the sprint format. I hope participation in the cup car class is capped though because the variety in makes is one of the best things about WC. Too many cup cars with amateur drivers would really water down the series.

I think its strange that a spec class would be stuck in the middle of what has become to be so pure, essence, production based racing!
so glad the touring groups got pulled along time ago. I dont care how fast they are, nothing worse than seeing ugly budget street cars, pumped up to go fast, mixed in with monster supercar hardware. They even sound obnoxious. Hey..... IMO. I think they have the right mix now. GT and GTS.
Hey, but why go for perfection when you can screw it all up!

It's a no-brainer move to split the GT and GTS field. With all the hardware, current, and coming online next year, any argument to try and keep GT and GTS together is totally pointless.
This could be the closes thing to the Blancpain Sprint/Endurance series we have, and that's totally awesome.
I bet Ratel is sitting back, and laughing his *** off now.....as he should be. I don't agree with everything he does, but let's face it, he got it right. Huge grids prove it.
And as always, Porsche is right there to offer an "entry" into GT without a huge budget. Now they just need to hurry up and get the 991 GT3-R to market.
