Default Anyone run the Hoosier R7's yet?

I searched here and the interwebs and did not see any real world experience/reviews I could use. Looking at ordering tires for the Mid Ohio Club Race and Midwest Tires lists the R7/A7. So, anyone run them yet?

You sort of kind of don't have much choice on this. Hoosier has switched its production from R6 to R7. R6's are still in inventory, but not for long

3 weeks ago I needed a set of R6's. First my dealer first said all they had were R7 fronts and R6 rears. "Thats all they are making now". They said a lot of people were upset. They subsequently found a matching set of R6's for the front. So least front and rear would be matched.

But it looks as though we are all going to be switching to R7

Wish we could get some more info on the release of R7's in larger sizes (as in rear sizing)

Question what are those new design little successive grooves do? Are they just wear markers or something? Mike

Any update on this? Seems that I can only run R7s in the front and R6s in the back.

That is same spot I'm in at the moment. I have R7s mounted on the front and R6s in the rear. Have not been to track yet to see how they perform mixed like that...

I tried a7 on the front of 944 and a6 in rear.
Same thing. Couldn't feel the difference.
Compounds are same . Structure supposed to be different.
I got weird wear on edges. I'll try to post pictures

I cant believe you said that Stach, I thought it was that I didnt have enough camber or maybe air pressure. I have a NA 944 ran with you at NJMP. Have square set up w / R7

They probably (hopefully) changed the structure because of the bubbling as the cords let go. Fairly significant issue with R6s. Happens to new or old, just not in huge numbers. I had a set of R5s do the same.
