I wonder how many people on this site dream about telling their staff and board that they are packing it in to go work on race cars!! I am a VP at a software company, with 3 kids and a stay at home wife... on a day like today it would be nice to pack it all up and move to NJ to be told what to do and fix race cars for a few years.

Where do I sign?

Good luck with the search!

I think about it all the time. If I'd ever hit that one big case....

I just put on new wiper arms, an antenna, and a brake pedal yesterday. Does that qualify me for the position? Any chance of telecommuting?

Here is the formal description... telecommuting would be nice, but some customers prefer we don't take our work (their race cars) home with us... Can't imagine why?

I doubt the person who gets this opportunity will know how lucky they really are!

My 3.5 year old twins and my 8 year old son already agree that it is a good idea for me to go work on cool race cars all day. If my wife gives me permission... I am going to apply!! Chances of that happening are... well... I will keep dreaming.

I left a mid-management, corporate position in the 90s to work on race cars as a mechanic. In ten months, I became a data acq/race engineer for CART/Indy teams. This leap eventually got me involved in business startups involving motorsports. It can be done.
