Nothing protects you from a laser besides a jammer which is hard mounted in the car (front & rear). And they work. Without it on my RS I promise I'd be in the clink. The Escort 9500ci is what I have. No false alarms. It is $$ $2k but as previously mentioned it has more than paid for itself.

The radar and GPS technology in the 9500 is in the dash mount and will offer a great deal of protection just nothing for laser other than a warning which is usually too late.

V1 - is the best hands down . It has the most false alarms but it will read the real stuff way before anything else. I have had them all and have run multiple units side by side.

I drove a fast car this weekend so I pulled out my ancient V1 and dusted it off, it's been a few years since I used anything at all. It saved me three times!
Don't know what the latest is, but best for me has been a badge and a surgeon's card.

Try the Waze app. I have found it to be pretty good for real time cop locations.

I use the Escort 9500. Awesome. The GPS feature lets you lock out those pesky X-band burglar alarms and other false signals.

I use Waze and the V1, the combo works quite well.

Waze is awesome if you are in an active area.

Get the Valentine. It will be the last one you will have to buy. You can send yours in for upgrades as the technology changes. Escort told me that I would need to purchase a new unit.
