The quality of the SD versions of the MoTeC VCS, Race-Keeper and VBOX leave a lot to be desired. None are any better than the ChaseCam PDR-100.
HD is the way...

Could we do the same setup with the Chase Cam PDR-100? Even if it's only the one camera?

All you need is the harness and a VSM for the PDR-100. I have one (a PDR-100), NOS...

Copy the downloaded and unzipped SC HD firmware upgrade file onto the root (top level, i.e. E:/) of the SD card
Remove the SD from the PC and insert it into the SmartyCam
Power on SmartyCam with the right pushbutton down (facing you) and keep it pushed until Linux Penguin appears
Firmware upgrading starts automatically
When the procedure has successfully ended, a confirmation message appears

The best way is to use the integrated mic cable but there is also a cable that accepts a 3.5mm male plug input.
The cable is substituted for the CAN cable that connects the SmartyCam GP HD to the master logger.
Available from leading dealers or AiM in Roanoke, VA or Lake Elsinore, CA. About $68, IIRC. I think I have one.

Burning Brakes
I have this on the way to use with my Aim Solo DL. I built my planned overlay graphics in their SmartyManager software, but it looks like I can only resize the track map. Is there a way to make the friction g-force circle bigger? With DashWare, I can make anything as big or as small as I want. The friction circle could stand to be bigger.
