Sparco Ergo seats?
#16
Mike,
where in TX are you? I'm looking at ordering one of these in L and can't find one to sit in. I'm 6'8, 225 (36" waist), so I need something with high harness holes and where the top of the halo isn't down around my cheeks. I've been looking at this and the RaceTech.

Ok, that makes me think I need to get medium (145lbs, 5'8") just because of shoulder holes. I will probably need to get some extra padding to make it not too lose

So I got Sparco Ergo medium, and it's the right height for me - I'm glad I did not go for small.
But it's quite a bit wide in the butt. I'd add a bit of padding there. What's the best way to do so?
Also, the front bottom cushion (under the hamstrings) is a bit too long and tall, and pressing under knees a bit too much. It may compress over time, but I'd like to try a smaller cushion. Is there a way to get one without making it?

Just to add my $.02, I just installed a couple of a Sparco Ergo large seats, and they fit me beautifully. I am 5'10"+ amd 215 lbs. with a 38" waist and very broad shoulders. The width at the seat bottom is just enough to be comfortable, but still hold you immovably in the seat, and the shoulder holes are perfect, right in line with the tops of my shoulders. The back width is also very broad. I probably will add some additional cushioning to the bottom to accommodate my bony butt, but that is it.

I am also 6'8", but a little heavier at 275-280 w 40" waist. I sat in the Ergo L The seat was fine, the harness holes were a tad low, but the halo dug into my shoulders. I don't have a particularly long torso, inseam 36". Was looking at the Raceteck 4009 THR. Don't think I need the WTHR Anyone have any experience? I currently sit in a Recaro Profi XL and fit well. The Recaro halo is also too low and digs into my shoulders.

Bumping this back up ... anyone ever sat in a Sabelt Taurus XL (also called the GT-160)? According to specs, it is a little taller (30mm) than the Racetech 4009WTHR, but a little narrower int eh shoulder (20 mm).

Just an FYI, I just sat in a Racetech 4119 WTHR seat last weekend, and although not cheap, the fit was perfect. First head restraint seat I could fit in at 6'8". The harness holes lined up well, and it had a very nice finish.

Could you assist with the one very critical measurement of dimension "n" that is missing from this and every Sparco size chart? http://www.ogracing.com/sparco-ergo-...ss-racing-seat
it is the most important measurement for my purchase and it is not present...
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Okay -- epic threadbump, but I have a question. I can't seem to find an Ergo to sit in either. I find most of the Sparco seat harness holes are too low, but like the flexibility of the Ergo.
Would I fit in a M? 5'11", 155 lbs, very athletic/tapered build: 30" waist, 39" shoulders. Skinny ***/legs, so concerned Large woudl be too big.
As a datapoint: I REALLY liked the fit of the OMP WRC-R seat, but want option of adding/removing Halo.
Thanks!

Wintershade:
Based on your measurements you will fit in an Ergo Medium. You and I are the same height and I weigh 20 lbs more than you will a 33" waist and I fit well in it. Let me know if you need more information.
Kind regards,
