PCA at NOLA - Who's in?
#17
We are just about one month away from the PCA Mardi Gras Cup Club Race & DE on May 23/24/25, 2014 at NOLA Motorsports Park in New Orleans. A lot of folks have worked very hard on putting together what is going to be a terrific event. If you plan attend please register now.
May is a great time to be in the Big Easy. Bring the family; there are many activities within close proximity. NOLA MP is located only 14 miles (20 minutes by expressway) from downtown New Orleans. Secure trailer parking is available before and after the event if you would like to extend your stay.
This will be a combined Club Race & DE weekend. The 2.75-mile configuration at NOLA will be the venue.
Friday - T&T hosted by Mardi Gras Region
Saturday - Practice sessions, Qualifying, & 1 Hour Enduro
Sunday – Warm up & 2 Sprint Races
DE Sessions all 3 days
We are up against deadlines for t-shirt orders and head counts for catering and would like to firm up the attendance numbers. To register go to www.clubregistration.net Please note there are separate events set up for the Club Race and DE.
In addition to the on-track activities, there are parties at the track on Friday and Saturday nights.
Want to be part of the action, but don't have a track car? Register as a Social Entrant. $75 will get you in the parties on Friday and Saturday nights, parade laps on the 2.75 mile circuit during the lunch hour, and an event t-shirt. To register as a social entrant, go to the DE event at www.clubregistration.net
For complete details on the weekend including directions, hotel accommodations, RV reserved paddock parking, tire support, race fuel, catering for your crew, track rules, db limit, and more go to www.mgpca.org/race

As of the last check of CR., we have 50 race entries. Still more space and time to sign up. This year's event should be better than the inaugural event of last year, of which everyone who attended thought was spectacular. 15 minutes from the French Quarter and great local cuisine. Don't miss it.

I am tentative as the car is still not ready - pops will be there however in #760
I highly recommend this circuit/event to anyone. Lots of challenging, flowing corners, plenty of run off room, and a superb facility. Not to mention you can be in New Orleans in the evenings!

OK racers, online registration closes a week from Monday. Still have time to get signed up and come on down to the Big Easy and race or DE one of the newer tracks in the country. Also enjoy the Legendary Mardi Gras Region hospitality. Party Friday night and Saturday night!!! Or not as you see fit , but still great food and company the whole weekend. TNT on Friday ,early at track checkin and secure trailer parking begins Thursday for the early bird arrivals. Come on down!!!

I did the short course
Some call it technical, I call it a terrible track design
I've been to the following tracks
Sebring
Daytona
Pbir
Nola
Barber
Tws
Cota
VIR
Mosport
Calabogie
Mont Tremblant
Mid ohio
Some track near Joliet, il
Njmp
Watkins glen
Road Atlanta
Homestead
And Nola is the last place I'd go
It's a pbir, with less grip and a bit longer...in the ghetto
I will look for a video of the track somewhere

Some track Near Jollier. That would be Autobahn.
I'm of the school that I've not been to a track I don't like but, there I some I wouldn't go out of my way to go back to. S
NOLA that Bad...
Not a Big fan of PBIR myself even when i could drive it weeknights if I wanted to. I chuck it to not being a good track for 911's IMHO.
Re: NOLA video I've seen looks kind if interesting since I can't figure out the esses. Is that what they call it "technical".

NOLA is not bad. When it was brand-new, Randy is right: it was ungrippy. Since then, the grip has come. Randy has only run the short course, which I don't care for much. You will be running the long course, wiich is excellent. The rest of his complaints are piddly little things. Not every track can be right next door to the Ritz Carlton. I have been there a bunch. Yes, the esses are technical, as are a couple of other areas. USE THE CURBS!!!
