Eliminate insurance when car becomes track only?
My question about insurance is NOT about track insurance. How is everyone protecting their asset when the car is on a trailer or merely parked in garage? Should I keep regular insurance to protect myself from car theft? Or do folks go with some home umbrella insurance? Or no insurance at all?
Car will never go on the street again.
thanks.

In CA..
If your car ever gets stolen, perhaps trailer and car, the coppers won't look real hard for your car if it is not currently registered. And you need insurance to get the car registered.

You might want to consider getting a low mileage insurance. Try visiting here http://www.yepmarket.com/all-about-low-mileage-car-insurance.

Also check out Westfield Insurance. I was surprised to find that they have coverage available for race car storage and transport. Have used them for our farm/business coverage and they were able to do my cars and trailers as well...We are lucky here in Northern Ohio as one of their reps is an avid racer.

Yes Lockton
If anyone has Comp with a standard carrier as suggested above, you need to change that. When you have modified your car from stock the Comprehensive coverage form will significantly reduce the payment of a covered loss.

Go Hagerty, Lockton, or other specialty market that knows about our cars and the investment you wish to insure
