Need to get de insurance for 2 up coming Chin Motorsports events. I'm looking at Lockton Affinity as they seem highly endorsed but just checking to see what else is out there.

I've been using Lockton for several years. I recently renewed a 9 event package and had a significant price increase (19%). No claims.

I see on the ontrackinsurance.com website that un-registered race cars are not applicable. Does Lockton require the car to be registered? I don't see anything on their site. They ask for the VIN on the application, which i have, but it is not registered.

E55AMG- we can insure any car that has a Vin and is valued at $140,000 or less. Many of our clients insure dedicated track cars that dont have regs. I have even done Cup cars for those that only do DE with them.

Country911 thanks, you are is correct no Canada but we can insure in any state and any DE.

An interesting note - the insurance through Motorsport Reg covers an instructor driving the students car (assuming the student bought the insurance).

So, I'm an instructor, if I have a policy with you do you cover my student's car while I'm driving it?

With Lockton, insurance goes with the car, not the driver. I specify myself and one other person as primaries for each event and any instructor is automatically covered. If your student does not have insurance, I cannot imagine any policy will cover you driving their car.

PJorgen- 1st thank you. Your policy is only on your car. If your student has their own policy it would automatically cover if an instructor was driving there vehicle. If they do not have a policy there is no coverage while you drive their vehicle.

Joe- 3 events or more at one time is a 10% credit and 6+ is a 15% credit

Mdrums- great car would love to insure it
