Update -- with the input from fellow RLs and the reputation of the seller, I moved quickly and bought the car. Seller was a reputable shop, 911 Design (Loren Beggs) in Montclair, CA. The car was a CMax Racing car driven by David Riddle and Chris Wilson. I believe the car was originally built by Marcus Racing. This car won at Watkins Glen Grand AM GS race in 2007. Loren was very straightforward and said the car had been raced quite hard for years and and had some road rash. No problem...I prefer not to worry about getting dings. Good news is he said the car was solidly maintained by the previous owner and has a virtually brand new 3.8 engine with no race hours.

As a bonus, I was told today it has a Tevis ABS system and fire suppression system (only needs a bottle). Loren said it had a very well built cage. He said they build lots of cages, sees a lot of junk, but this is a well done one. Loren said he was told the motor was a new PCNA motor.

My first concern is to make sure they installed a baffle in the oil pan which is unconfirmed as of now. I've read some horror stories where the standard 997 engines suffer from oil starvation. I am considering paying Loren to remove oil pan to verify. JR, do you happen to know if the motor builder addressed that issue? I'm guessing they did, but really can't afford not to verify.

Now the fun part...becoming a good driver! A few pics attached here and more hosted pics at the link below. Thanks for all the feeback...RL rocks.

Beautiful car and it sounds like you got a great deal. That's a ton of power you just purchased so be prepared for it and consider professional coaching to get you matched with the car.

It sounds like a nice get. Does anyone know or can tell from the discription, what PCA class a car like this would run?

My car was built by Synergy for Marcus racing. So they have a common heritage. Its an 06 so an earlier effort. Have fun!

Sorry for two posts, darned iphone. I found a factory Cup wing for $3600. Is that a good price?

Also, will sell the GT3 wing currently on car if anyone is looking.

Not really, unless it includes the deck lid, which you will need for the cup wing. Even still, it might be a bit high?

The used Cup factory wing includes deck lid and risers and it's already painted white for $3600. If the street GT3 wing is worth $2000, seems like a smart move?

Might be a good buy, especially if it's OEM.

Nice get.

I had a lot of people tell me not to buy a Koni car but mine has been pretty much trouble free since I bought it with the exception of the AOS. I'd suggest putting the motor sports one in ASAP.
