This system is plug n' play for 997.1 and 997.2 GT3's. Very fairly priced, too.
This camera will also allow recording of the Solo DL data directly to a compressed file onto the microSD card.
What this allows you to do is to pull the card, download the data AND the video in ONE operation to your computer.
For a quick swap with this feature, some people just keep two cards and alternate them. Painless and quick.
The new HD version will not do this. You need to download from the Solo DL and the camera SD card separately.

Peter thanks, I didn't know that with the HD unit you have to download from the solo with a USB cable, and then then camera via SD separately. Much easier with the GP, it comes all at once, and imports in one operation.

I've had a couple people ask about video quality and field of view on the GP smartycam.
Here are two examples from COTA:

Buy Jerry's first.
When he sells his, I have a brand new SC GP and Solo DL for $1450 and slightly used for $1200, the same deal as above, with complimentary configuration and installation support.

It did, sorry. I just updated the first post to reflect that.
I'd recommend the vbox though if you don't have an investment in other AIM stuff.

And I am a dealer for VBOX, too.
Video VBOX Lite, 2-camera, standard definition with OLED display bundle deal $2100
Video VBOX HD, one camera, 60 or 133 degree FOV, carrying case, aiming monitor, no display, $2620
This spring I expect a 2-camera HD version with the ability to write graphics to the video real time (like the VVBOX Lite and SmartyCam HD do).
That said, the new Race Studio 3 AiM software does sync two videos together now. Not long before it will show up synced in the data window.
I am using BOTH systems (VVBOX Lite as well as AiM Solo DL and SmartyCam HD) with my 991 coaching client today at VIR... They're both very good.
I have a decent used VVBOX Lite, 2-camera. With case, no display. $1350 postage paid to CONUS
