everyone would always like a class for their car the way it current stands. just difficult to do with so many good series with cars built to their rules packages. the WC Caymans are very quick, in my estimation , at NJMP about 1.5 to 2 seconds faster than the Interseries cars. tahts about the difference I realized between my WC Cayman the my interseries car.
the suspension, brake pacakage, aero.
but the reality is, guys with interseries cars or ITC could put a cup car rolex brake setup in the car and have rock solid amazing brakes, with a bosch or teves abs, and probably gain that 1 to 1.5 seconds in the various brake zones. just would cost you 10,15grand.

historically, I just drive wherever in whatever field and race anyone who's in front or behind me. at some point, the lure of classes kind of went out the window.

Wish there was a west coast alternative...
Stujelly,

You can run your Interseries Cayman with the POC in the GT3 class. No modification necessary. It will also comply with the POC CaymanSpec class rules. While CaymanSpec is currently unpopulated, you could start a trend.

Less than 3 years out of Racing my Cayman in H and I-Stock trim and Im completely out of the loop of current Spec!

Can someone summarize the difference in Spec between:
- ITC
- GTBx (I assume this where you can run World Challenge and GrandAm GS cars?)

interseries program is no more but this is the build for the cars
http://www.caymaninterseries.org/node/151

then there is ITC that has a lot of contingencies and 2 classes where one is unlimited and allows 3.8 motors and pro drivers

stuggart cup caymans that can run with HSR

gtb1 caymans in pca

all are close in builds, just vary on max of wings, weight, and few other things

Difference between ITC and GTB for 2014 is:
Weight
allow use of an IPD intake Plenum
and throttle bodies to balance the power difference
PDK cars get an additional 100 lbs
2014 Cayman S get different rules
GTP - anything flys in Cayman clothing

Scott, what specifically were the guys that got bumped to GT3 (from GTB1) down at Sebring doing prep wise that was outside the GTB rules?

Wow the responses are great. I have spent a lot of time talking with Bill Riddell and have the utmost respect just over the phone. He met with the Heads of PCA this past Friday at the 48hr of Sebring. The cars they have built up to run the Stuttgart cup will not fit into a spec cayman or gtb1 class now as they have changed the brakes to the gt3 cup brakes and the intake/throttle boddies. After reading and re-reading the rules from PCA,Nasa, and on and on it seems at the club level the car of interest to me would run GT-3 in PCA and GTS4 in Nasa. the other option is to find one that is in spec trim and hope that the interest grows in the west coast. It seems that Bill along with Jack Baldwin have developed a great car that is not cup overhead to operate.. They say that just the braking system alone once in place saves money as pad life went from 2 hours to 6 hours with the new system.

What to do What to do ???

^ heath?

i wish there would be just ONE set of rule and ONE series of caymans to run. i would have bought as many of them as i have RS's. but no, they like to change. and some are so fkg stuck up that wont sell cars to the west coast (this is why the series is dead out here). when interseries first came out they will not sell out here because we can't race HSR or some such ... well... dead now. ha.

if you can get GGR to have enough of these cars, many of us will be interested. but until rules are fixed for good... aint going to happen.

i believe stujelly has the only interseriers car out here.
dwayne has a very fast highly developed early cayman with POC.
and of course are own CDI with a bastardized big motor alligator.

maybe i will see you in one by TH event?

jh
