Which of the 2 units you are selling, provides the instrument and mapping overlay? I am curious why the speed is 100+ and the tach reads zero?

It has tach capability. The single blue wire in the second picture down can be connected to the instrument cluster and the tach will read, no trouble.

This was $2500+ five or six years ago.

thanks Pete.
yes, the blue wire with D sub connector is for tach, which isn't hooked up in that photo.

bump
still available- offers?
caveat: i realize GoPro has made a great alternative but this setup is professional- incredible video resolution with Craig's RaceCam camera.
You can video tape to reader card in the Chasecam pdr, overlay your data from traqmate on to the video,...

Can this be upgraded with the Traqdash as an add on?

Also, can the RaceCam overlay be disabled? I'm not sure why you'd want that and the Traqmate overlays together.

Yes, with a locking cable upgrade, you can sell the standard dash and upgrade to the TraqDash. I'll take $100 off current TraqDash price and give you the cable upgrade if you buy a new TraqDash from me ($599), will even set it up for your car.

There are two overlays on the example video.

One is the horizontal a vertical g's (green and red bars with white divisors), that is put there on the video by the ChaseCam and can be turned off and on by a button on the ChaseCam. Once recorded, it cannot be taken off the video.

The other is the Traqmate g's, speed, tach, map and lap times. Those are put on the video after the fact when combining the Traqmate data and video. This only happens (as on the demo video upload) when you "burn a movie" from within TraqStudio (a $200 value in this package for sale). This info is NOT on the origin video.

This is still a relevant system and with the RaceCam, which was a VERY expensive at the time, is a great deal.

Peter thank you so much for explaining to folks and helping me along here!
This is an amazing system - as you said, just the RaceCam camera and harness / remote cost more than the whole package i am offering now.
I appreciate your inputs.

Nic is a great guy to deal with, buy with confidence! Though, I want to punch him in the throat as I just put a new traqmate in a customers car and could have saved them a lot more money going this route had I known!

Nic, do you have any example video posted with this setup? I'm keen to compare the video quality with the usual GoPro setup / image quality. Thanks

My 996 Cup has exactly the same setup, Here is a clip of the previous owner at Road Atlanta:

Thanks for posting. Audio and video quality are quite good, even in 720p. Does it have an external mic line-in jack?

I'm assuming these specs apply to your generation model? http://www.chasecam.com/recorders/PDR100

Not sure on the external mic line-in jack. I haven't had the car long so I'm not familiar with the setup yet. If I keep the system in the car I will add the Traqdash, If not I will go to the new Aim Pista with a Smarty Cam when it's released on Peter's advice.

The specs are correct.
