Check out Youtube for "The Black Knight" who taped some really maniacal trips through traffic. Really amazing stuff.. He's dead by the way.

I once went out with a guy trying to impress me with his bike, a late 80's Yamaha VMax 1200, decided to show me what doing 130mph in an early morning run was like I was very unhappy. I like a car around me.

Because personal accountability is much more common than what we have to put up with here. You want to turn yourself into something that can only be scraped up with a shovel on the autobahn? Go ahead but don't damage anyone or anything else because, in most cases, your surviving loved ones will get stuck with the bill.

Unfortunately, most of 'merica is still stuck with the "station wagon" image in their heads. Even if Audi did sell them here, it would not make that much financial sense considering only a handful will actually sell at such a high price (most of them would probably be Rennlisters). 'mericans are much more willing to shell out big bucks for the uber fast SUVs.

I've done 300 on my R1 nobody passed me though and there was no traffic around -- love those Audi's!! Nice to see someone going quick without pursuit helos, local news going crazy and the safety nannies crying their eyes out -- oh the horror!!

Remember, in Germany, left lane bandits AKA the Anti Destination League are generally ticketed and/or arrested by the police. That is one more way they "encouragge" slower traffic to move right. That, and an awareness of something most drivvers in the US don't even know exists for anything other than puttiing on make up: the rear view mirror.
