Rick,

thanks for starting this thread. I'm nearing the end of my cayman pdk track build by Chris Smith Racing.

I also chose the Cayman Interseries Stoptech brakes. Jack Baldwin seems to be a fan. I would like to hear more details on the issues with these kits. I ran them at my first shakedown at Road atlanta with PFC 08F/06R, gt3 brake booster and GT3 master cylinder. Brakes felt great, did not overheat, but we did encounter some random PSM failures which seemed to be related to overwhleming the abs.

Jcastle:

Any more info on the psm failure? On my build we are wiring a TC or PSM off switch into the system. I have heard that will kill sport plus so looking into that.

Is this a general suggestion or to a specific post? I'm not clear on your meaning.

Rick,

I'm your friend for a number of years -- get the 3rd radiator. It will save you aggravation in the very hot weather and has no downside.

Rick, most folks ditch the radiator cooling fans for dedicated track cars which provides better unrestricted airflow through the radiators. Upside is better cooling at speed, Downside is that you need to shut down the car when you're sitting still to prevent it from overheating.

Just curious about the suspension. Just the coilovers and sway bars? any LCA, monoball ends?

WOW nice!....will you be able to keep Sport Chrono so you can activate the quicker shifting maps in Sport Plus mode? With PDK in either auto or manual mode have the fast shift maps is a big difference I know.

Hi Fred
Indeed you are.
I have had the 3rd radiator in the build spec since day 1.
I'll especially need it when I'm tucked in behind you trying to earn a pass.

g.
If you decide to go racing this car will slide nicely into GTB1 with the better brakes. I switched from "I stock " class last year and it has been a lot of fun with big fields showing up at most events.

A compromise is to keep one of the cooling fans. This allows the car to idle (and keep the the cool suit running) while sitting on grid or during black flag situations.

We use this configuration with the center radiator and a 3.8l and can run in 100+ temps without overheating - coolant temp stays right about 225F and oil temp runs about 250F. ECT is closer to 215 to 220 on cooler days.

Cheers,
