After qual and most of the race it looked pretty dim for Porsche (er, outside of GTC) but the race came to the Falken team.
Nick Tandy really drove well and held off BMW and Ferrari under a lot of pressure.
It was a real nail biter especially when Ferrari gave up the lead with a minor off with about 2 hrs left. But the Falken car now in the lead only had one headlight working and it looked like it would be called in as darkness fell. But they figured out the problem (some unrelated switch was causing the problem) and won by 0.7 sec. Thrilling.

Congratulations also to Spencer Pumpelly for finally winning his home race! The changing conditions really made the race interesting. We were able to actually WATCH the race for the first time in many years (I've been in charge of organizing the Porscheplatz for the past 4 years!)
Next year should be interesting with all the shake up and consolidation:
-What will Flying Lizard do?
-What will all the drivers do...who will be left out?
-Who, besides Pat Long, will be driving for CORE? How will the new RSR do?
-How will TRG do with the full on change to Aston Martin?
I am cautiously optimistic that next year will be a lot of fun to watch how it all shakes out...

Here's some iphone pics from the race. didn't take too many, so here's all the Porsche content. Including the 44 GTC car in its natural habitat
one interesting thing from standing in the entrance to 7: you could see how much more roll the GTC cars had than anything else. it was kind of comical to watch them wallow and roll into the corners.
the last pic was just as the sun was setting, and the clouds were rolling out...made for a great pic. sometimes you get lucky.
