Lightweight Battery for 01 Boxster S?
My car is a pig. Needs a quick diet. When I had the baby cup, I did a lw battery and it was one of the most inexpensive and easy mods to lose some pounds.
Now, tech is a bit better and I'm seeing lithium examples from Braille that are like 6 pounds and also carbon and other types with a variety of price tags.
Does anyone have experience with these or others? I'm like 150 over so I need to do something. Will probably start on the doors, but don't have a great deal of time or money, which is another concern for the lithium route. Advice and wisdom is greatly appreciated! It's so good to have great people here on RL! Been a member since 07' and it's worth every penny.

You picked some good folks to run with. I'll try and paddock near them. Cory and Adam are a wealth of information. I like their spec boxster also...very nice.

The Baby Cup is still running with a Braille AGM battery that you had spec'ed. I think I've replaced it once, but I think I've had her for 4 years now?
The weight savings to go to Lithium versus the AGM don't seem all that significant to warrant the increased cost, just a few pounds. I'd suggest sticking with what you did in the 996.

When I called they suggest 3 different ones for my application. But, now I can't get anyone that knows anything. They are at some kind of show. I will post what I finally decide on though. I think my cheapest option was around $200 for the 18 pounder, 2nd was $341 for the carbon 15 pounder and the lithium was $630 or so and it was 6.6 pounds and included charger.

I had the 11 pound Braille in my Boxster and it started the 2.5 and 3.4 blocks no problem.

I use the Deka / East Penn Manufacturing ETX-30L mounted on its side in my Boxster S:

Very reliable and fairly light weight. Some sources have claimed that these guys make all of the Braille batteries, but I have never found any proof of that.
