ordering 46' Gooseneck trailer ATC/Intech/Becker/Exxis
Late to ask for advice here because I'll be placing an order in the next week or so but hoping to get some good/bad feed back on these aluminum trailer brands from actual buyers.
Working on quotes from all companies and trying to sort out who supplies the best quality. None of them have a dealer near me, some not even in Florida.
Renegade does, but they refuse to build a tapered nose with bubble so they are out.
Exxis is local and the odd one out, its basically featherlite, specialized in a Horse trailers but comes out of the same building as far as I can tell. Looks uglier.
I did not look at West Coast buildirs, these are all in IN or GA I think.
The others all look the same to me, the cost and features are very similar on paper.
Looking for maximum upgradable quality, top of the line model.
My Optima trailer was totaled in a Tornado. The specs were very similar to these specs and we put about 200K miles on it in 6 years. It proved pretty built proof. The only change is adding 2' for under riser generator compartment and side storage compartment doors under the riser instead of having to baggage doors in the top of the riser.
This is just a race trailer, no living quarters, just a box with AC; my specs:
46’
2’ storage space included under deck.
Sealed generator compartment and 2 side doors under rider
88” inside clear as well as both door heights
No baggage doors in riser.
3 x 7000 axles
Electric brakes on 3 axles
G rated stacker tires
8 lug upgraded wheels (Photo)
12’ on center posts 2” x 2” in wall and floor
Hydraulic jack, double.
Generator prep with fuel tank with 50 amp box inside plug and play for generator later
Outside
0.050 outer skin screwless
Nose pointed enough to fit short 6’ bed Dodge Mega cab
Bubble cone 5 x 3’
Spare tire under rider
Double side door 60’ recessed latch, 88" height
Heavy duty 6000 lb rated ramp door 88” height, max width, extruded aluminum 5’-6’ flap
Recessed ramp door latch
Ramp door bumpers (4)
5’ flap extruded aluminum.
3’ perimeter lights
Mid ship turn signal on the side
4 tail lights / backup lights below
2 top tail lights in door
Solid alu roof
Rear caster wheel,
Inside
0.030 inner skin screwless
No outside light boxes
Extruded aluminum floor
Insulated wall and ceiling
Airline track recessed in floor 2 tracks.
E track 3 x 36 per side plus to vertical rows against riser and on top of riser +/- 24’
24 x 18” LED lights
2x AC front low profile
1x roof vent rear
Winch with remote

peter,
You know me and my trailers.
I have had the pace, featherlite, optimas, they are ok.
ATC and goldrush, hands down are the way to go.
The gold rush has the alum floor and is so strong and light. Not sure if you saw my rig at RA.
Anyway, call me or email me is you want contact info. I am at daytona this weekend with PCA. I know the owner at goldrush and ATC. I have custom ordered from both.
No affiliation, just want to see you get a good trailer.

I have a 44' ATC and it is great. Extruded aluminum floor and insulated like you are spec'ing. Very easy to tow and hauls 2 race cars and all the necessary stuff. Highly recommend ATC
