ALMS and WEC @ COTA this weekend... running separately?
So ALMS and the WEC visit COTA this weekend. First time the 991 RSR visits North American shores, I believe. Was assuming that the WEC cars would run within the ALMS race, ala Petite Le Mans/Sebring, but I believe there are two separate races. Can anyone confirm?
Will be interesting to see the speed difference between the 991 and 997 GT cars, albeit on different days I guess.

Bummer.
Looks like the first piece fell in to place for "silly season" for USCR this AM. Jeroen Bleekemolen to run Viper in GT Daytona with Ben Keating. Will be interesting to see where McNeil takes the Weathertech money.

Sorry to hear that. I think AJR and Bleekemolen are one of the best combos out there.

porsche has a select small# of great factory drivers, but unless i misunderstand the setup, they leave it to the privateer teams like seth nieman etc to fund stuff. i dont blame pmna, but if i were a top guy id imagine ford and chevy and dodge pay way more and deliver a better package. the viper looks to be the front runner or atleast has a shot, while the porsche is very limited and "well, its not a porsche kind of track".

Bleekemolen has been fantastic. i presume he's going to go where the money is and id imagine that chevy and dodge factory driver positions are hot ticket items, huge budgets for the cars, massive operations. good for him.

I agree, sad he's not in a pro car, I suspect the money on this one is good.
btw hopefully the 991 RSR and GT3 cars will eliminate the Porsche "big book of excuses" problem next year
