Default Fuel jugs?

Is any brand of 5 gal, square fuel jug better than the others? How about the filler hoses?

VP fuels are IMHO the best. Filler hoses are standardized.

Keep in mind for New Jersey that you need to have red jugs in order to fill at public stations.

I have Scribner fuel jugs. They are pretty good, but if I bought again, I'd go with VP Racing square jugs.

These are also good. Note that they are legal in NJ.

I don't think that they will fit in my racks

I like the VP jugs with the filler hose that fits right in the stock fuel filler neck. This is all I use now.

I also have two 6-gallon Hunsaker jugs which I don't think are made any more. They are awesomely ergonomic for lifting and pouring but they are too tall for the back of my truck with the lid down.

I like the VP square jugs. They have a 'hip' molded in that makes them easier to rest against you while you're fueling. I find the red ones pretty hard to see through, though, for gauging fuel level.

The best square 5 gallon jugs are without question (IMHO) the Hunsacker jugs.

I had 3 of them and they were superior to the VP fuel jugs. Very high quality plastic, easy to fill at gas stations, easy to hold/lift/carry

They disappeared for a couple of years, but they're back

The Hunsakers also don't flop over in the back of your truck and the vent acts like a full length handle, very handy.

I was going to buy the VP jugs but they don't fit under the bed cover of my F-250. About an inch too tall.
I use gas jugs from Lowes etc. They really swell up in the sun, though, and I wonder how long I should rely on them. I suspect I should swap out for some new ones.
