Default United Sports Car Racing blows Lime Rock off

Whatever they're calling the new joint series, they've decided not to go to Lime Rock. Skip seems pretty miffed.

especially since you'd think the country's funkiest oval track would appeal to NASCAR

Huh? Think you're thinking of Pocono.

Frank, I would not be surprised if they did the Glen.

I think it's a mistake, Lime Rock may be short but it's better than many other tracks they run on. The only real issue is the chicane, it's pretty ridiculous but there are worse obstacles on other tracks.

I remember the 935 era in IMSA, it would take an hour to get into Lime Rock due to the traffic and number of spectators. It's not quite like that now, but with one racing organization, I think it would be pretty packed and a very successful event.

it would help if the track wasn't pint sized and it had more than one left hand turn.

It might be more of an issue with paddock space for all the cars. 4 or 5 classes of ALMS/Rolex, 2 classes of continental challenge, imsa challenge, lambo super trofeo, imsa lites.....Not enough paddock space for everyone.

On TV it is almost as boring to watch a race at LR as Miller. They need to do the Glen for sure. Scratch Barber too, that race sets just below Miller. While they are at it, throw out Kansas. Nascar can have it. One little hairpin and they call that road racing? Sheezzz! Better do Sebring and Road Atlanta and America.

I'd be more concerned about Laguna Seca, Mid-Ohio and VIR. What "if" Kansas were on the schedule and these weren't???
