that's my concern, ISC tracks will get the nod ahead of non-ISC tracks, even if it's crappy infield road course versus historic, natural terrain road course

thank god ISC now owns Sebring and Road Atlanta

I'd bet my pants that they'll do Glen (since NASCAR & G-M do it already) which is absolutely awesome.

If they only would do Sebring as well...
And no, won't bet my pants for that!

Racing eats money. Racing needs sponsors, sponsors want fans. So racing needs fans, and LRP has the highest density of affluent population willing to come out and walk the paddocks and see the people and the hardware, hear and smell a roadrace. If you want to stay home and watch a race , expect more commercials, and less racing. Indycars come to mind, who wants to go, other than the 500 once in your life, yawn. keep looking at the stands as you watch a roadrace on the glass teat, hmmm empty. However , William Roberts and his clan sure do fill them when the "skittles in a flushed toilet" race comes to the aluminum flanked oval. LRP is a bullring when loaded with the big guns, but the fans come. Drop LRP and the northeast interest drops, because tv racing is not like going to Fenway.

Thoughts on Mosport? Their upgrade of the facility is in process.

Have not driven LRP, and yes, it's Lilliputian - but one of the classic North American tracks along with WGI, LS and others. I might even add LCMT...

Cheers

Matt

My thought as well. I go to the alms race and grand am every year, but combining the series will be a traffic jam. Im sure LR will get some of the support series races. Im thinking the glen will be the big race here in the NE.

I'm as bummed out as any on this. Lime Rock might be attracting the most affluent crowds but it does not show well on TV. USCR got a five year media deal with FOX. They need to deliver on ratings. I suspect it was a factor in the decision.

Lime Rock is an enigma. I have always felt that it's too short, but I've been going there since I was a kid, and like Mike I recall the 935 era and how fantastic the racing was there. It's a great track to spectate because the racing is cut and thrust and they come around in less than a minute! It's a road racing bull ring, and as a result they were never able to have CanAm or F/5000 there, so it's probably too much to expect a United SC race there.

Here's what I'm thinking and hoping:

Daytona
Sebring
Road Atlanta
Road America
Laguna Seca
Long Beach (split event GTs on Saturday LMPs Sunday)
Watkins Glen
Mid Ohio
COTA
Indy Road course
MOSPORT
