Caymans in WC LRP

Caymans in WC LRP
was at LRP today. great day, a bit hot, but so nice to be on track. big show, big scene. ALMS was there, the new Lambo spec series, and WC.
I'm running the #05 Heinlein Racing Development's Cayman S in the GTS field. thing was on rails in the first session and found myself in P3 amongst some good guys with jack baldwin flying the porsche flag in p1. dude is crazy fast.
i fell back a smidge as the heat came up, as the track got greasy and as i quickly approached my skill limits. but still hung in there for a p5 in qualifying amongst some seriously good and experienced dudes.
the pace amongst that drvier set is blistering. the prep onthese cars is about the same as many that run PCA gtb1 and the pole was about 2 1/2 seconds faster than pca gtb1 class record by a camaro . i think i had a class record in G at like 58.7 and we were nibbling on flat 55s today. and it was brutal hot.
i spent a day in a miata with Elivan Goulart two weeks ago and tried applying miata techniques to the cayman. many helped, some scared the nuts off me.
a spec miata is an incredible tool for training, just incredible.
very fun day for sure, and hoping to hang tight tomorrow in the race. i think the cayman will do well ove the long run, its a 50minute race/50laps whichever comes first, and having owned a camaro, im think on a high grip high load track like LRP, that extra 600 pounds or so in weight equaliziation is going to take its toll. Then again, the camaro has been awsome all year.
anyway, should be fun. u can watch it stream live at www.world-challengetv.com tomorrow at noon i believe, sunday at 10.
i believe there are 3 caymans in the field, so for you porsche nuts, a little fingers crossed for the pcars would be in order.

anyway, should be a fun day. that GTS field is a fun fun field, just perfect for me. hopefully we can find a way to move up. those camaros arent easy to pass, on a track like LRP which isnt easy to pass on. they are great to draft behind, not so great when you try to get along side them. they swat you away like mosquitos on a hot summer night.

Thanks. come on by an dsay hi. we're basically parked at the end of the road, beyond the false grid/grid/coral there. so if you were comign down the hill into the paddock area, make a left, go past the grid coral on your right and just keep going till you cant go no more on the road and we're dead right in front of you. great view of the downhill.
berg racing with their TC Boxster is right there and some other cool cars.
Safronas has the most massive complex of race haulers, race motorhomes, the fleet of crazy Audis, he's got like 3 Lambos in the lambo spec series. He's kicking butt and im sure they'll find more speed today.
A shout out to Alex Welch as well who i met for the first time today. great dude, fast as heck. he's going to lite it up also today.
you should stop at Safronas complex and see his posse of cars. They are insane.
