Didn't expect to take this long, but it's been a busy month. I ordered a 716CHA from R&R Trailers with a custom open deck, spare tire, locking toolbox, tire carrier, and removable driver side fender. Total cost before delivery about $4350..
Have fun with the new trailer.
Looks like a great combo. Congratulations. I would have suggested Trailex, but it looks like you got a GREAT deal.

That trailer looks a lot like mine, which I just put up for sale.
It's way better than a Trailex, the full floor is nice. Great set up you've got there!

After checking out Trailex, Featherlite, and every other aluminum mfr I could find, I settled on this trailer because the company has a good rep here and elsewhere, the price is unbeatable for what I'm getting, and the total weight of the trailer and all accessories will be under 1200# or so. While I'm not sure if I like the ramp mount up front, I do like the fact that it acts as a rock guard.

A winter update... about 800 miles of towing on the Interstate over the fall. She tows like a dream, about 14.5 MPG averaging 65-75 MPH. Hope to do even better once broken in. Here's a shot from WGI:

Packing up for a 2400-mile road trip to Phoenix next week. Pulled the rig out of storage and drove home in light snow with no traction problems. Hitching up the new car and planning to take it nice and easy on the roads.

Looking at R&R vs. Trailex, etc. My tow car is a 96 Cadillac Fleetwood with the factory tow package rated at 7,000 lbs. Towing a Boxster.
After spending some time with the R&R Trailer, do you still feel it's a superior choice to the Trailex? Every Porsche person I discuss this with immediately recommends Trailex. Every other person seems more flexible.

Burning Brakes
I prefer open floor. Makes oil changes, sway bar adjustments etc. easy at the track, especially in the wet. Trailex is built very well & tows very nicely especially with a marginal tow vehicle. I pulled my 2600 lb car on a 900 lb Trailex with a Honda Pilot rated for 4500 lbs with no sweat. Now have a vehicle rated for 6400 lbs & don't know the tow is back there.

Any thoughts on Montrose Trailers ? And, R&R seems to offer an open floor option and Serpent Express makes a light weight enclosure that R&R installs. Then there's the Trailex small enclosed trailer. Too many choices.
