You're going fast enough now that you should not be wearing a t-shirt. If not a suit, at least a long-sleeved traqgear shirt or something with a little fire resistance. I did my time on a burn unit, you don't want to ever experience that.

Start hand turning sooner into 1 and use all of the first level of rumble strip. Roll hands/steering angle through 1
Once your car is set in 2, roll to full throttle smoothly and hold it through the uphill eases. You'll end up having to upshift at the very top...which is a wonderful problem to have
Like 1, start hands rolling into 5 sooner and get down to apex sooner and thus hold longer. Max camber down there.
Same into 6.
Agree with comments in 9.
Upshift before 10 and use a lot more throttle through there.
Softer brake in 11.
And yeah...ignore the damned iPhone

Nice driving. I was also at WGI this weekend and enjoyed it a ton. Great track.
Agree with the comments above, especially Veloce Raptor and Will968.
I am going to be back at The Glen in two weeks with NER, and all this advice is great.
Just curious, what run group were you in?
Thanks

I'm in a low-hp car and can take T10 flat and T11 with just a lift, and in doing so can surprise lots of more powerful cars....you can carry ALOT more speed through there than you think.
And the apex for T11 is quite a bit earlier than you think--look for all the black on the inside curbing, where the racers go

True on both Gary.
I'll be there again Sept 18-19 where NNJR is hiring me again at their rent-a-coach . I'll be conducting a full track walk the Monday after the track goes cold, weather permitting.
Great event great people!

Love this track and the area. First time this past July with scda. Monday night track walk was amazing. Still overbraking for many corners. So much camber and elevation. Going back this September. Can’t wait
this was my 3rd session on 1st day. My fastest lap was 2:14. I did the whole lap in 4th gear. Really pumped about going back.

Here's a great in-car video from the 1978 F1 race at the Glen with Didier Pironi driving:

You can see the chicane after turn 2 and the absence of the bus stop. It still looks very much like the Glen today except for the absence of the catch fences and viewing stands in places along the track.
