I would guess you haven't driven Sears Point a lot......because it is a very flowing track that requires great rhythm to get it right. I can't think of a part of it I would call "cut and thrust".

The Glen flows better than Sears Point, but they're both great tracks. One is in a significantly better weather climate; the other makes it's own weather. Both are in wine regions, however, only Sonoma makes good wine. It was a goal to come out here and drive it, but I'd prefer then Glen any day - with a bottle of CA wine after.

I was just there for opening weekend festivities.
They look the same as last year. I went out did 3 briskly paced laps.
The pavement is still great
Over the winter WGI posted some insane pictures with 3" of snow on main straight away

The Glen is the fastest most flowing track I have driven. I like Sears Point and would not consider it a cut and thrust track, the run through T1-T6 is awesome and requires skill, but it does have a wonderful flow. it doesn't flow like the Glen. ...of course nothing I have driven does.

Agree. A wonderful track. One needs to put on "big boy" pants to drive it and have GREAT respect for the track. In fact, I will be there next weekend with a three day Allegheny Region, PCA event.

However, and I know this comment will "upset" some, I believe that Mosport and VIR, the full course, are more exciting to drive. Just my opinion.

I really like Mosport and VIR and for that Matter Road America, but the Glen is special.

In my view, VIR has more variety or perhaps breadth of range of turns than the Glen and if I had to only drive one forever it would be VIR but I would be very very sad if I never got back to the Glen.

Mosport is the original "big boy" track--it's not billed as "the fastest track in N. America" for nothing. IMO a really good day at that track is truly cause for celebration

Be there Wednesday, then the Glen next week--I'm a lucky boy!

One of my FAVORITE turns of all time.
..

At 1:14, is this another example of turning in too early on #6 (Chute)?

No. If anything, the whole approach is lackadaisical and lazy, from the exit of the bus stop to the missed apex and early release from turn 6 apex curbing, causing the camera car to go over the exit curb and moderate throttle.

3:44 is better, but I get the sense this driver is using the same hand speed for initial steering input for a majority, if not ALL the corners.

I do not think 1:14 or 3:44 is too early. But with the slow hand speed, 3:44 is almost too late and squared off...

It's not too early? He isn't really near the turn in cone on the right side of the track.
