Default Open tilt trailer question

Hey!I am thinking about retiring my Willood Trailer setup and buying an open car hauler .I am in NC and Kaufman Trailers has a tilt trailer that is very reasonably priced.Every other one I have seens tilts hydraulically ,this one works on balance which on the one hand is cool from a minimalistic approach but I wondered what anyones experience was with tilt trailers was ?should I only get one with hydraulics? Any experience with this Kaufman outfit would also be appreciated!cheers HOM

No experience with them, but given the tail heavy nature your GT3, will the minimalist approach work (w/o hydra) when loading (or even unloading)? Wonder if there will be enough weight up front to swivel down when loading and unlock to off load? Looks like a good price on a solid trailer.

tilts are fine but the tilt angle may be to steep for a porsche. a 18' dovetail with 6ft ramps may be a better way to go

I've got a 16ft hydraulic tilt I bought from Sweet River Farms, not far from CMP. Just right for my tiny 911. Even being tail heavy, it puts enough weight on the tongue to hold it down. I do have to use 8" tall Race Ramps with it.

If I had it to do over, i would probably just try to find a used aluminum trailer and go with longer ramps.

I have a kwik load rollback, works great, but does limit an extreme front lip.

Looks similar/same as my Texas rollback. Wheel trolley unlatches from the bed and allows the tow vehicle to push the bed off the wheels... I absolutely love mine, easiest trailer to load/unload, shallow approach.

I had a tilt trailer, but didn't like it. (car/deck would drop, on loading)

I ended up just locking it flat, and using longer ramps.

Have numerous customers who use them and they work just fine with race ramps. typically are HEAVY trailers though.

I had one too. Wish I still did.
