BEST hub/quick release for Momo wheel
What is the BEST hub and quick release to use for race steering wheel? Not sure yet if I will get Momo, OMP, Sparco. Looking at Momo 07.

But Momo does, and is available readily from a variety of suppliers including Rothsport.
Keep in mind with the 997 and Cayman and the computer controls to continue to work correctly, it is critical to re-center the steering wheel properly as needed.

Did a fair amount of research when I was selecting for my 997 track build as well and it was clear that the Rothsport QR is far and away the recommended race unit. A number of hubs out there for the 997.
Problem for me was I wanted to be able to use my car once in a while on the street and wanted a clean electronics hookup, mainly horn, to be wired and the airbag to be defeated. Pretty sure you'll need pigtails somewhere regardless of the hub you select.
I went with a ricer solution that has a pretty good rep with some 997 owners looking for a clean electrical hookup along with the airbag defeat in a nice CNC setup. Check out the Works Bell unit...full electrical integration, strong rep for no play, nice looking and custom 997 hub.

I have one that was made for the 997-based GT3 factory cars. It came from an RSR. Sometimes you can buy these used but in good condition from race teams. If you can't find a used one or would prefer a new one, I agree that the parts from Rothsport appear to be among the best choices.

Rothsport! OK, actually responding regarding the hub. For a 997 I found you need a short boss hub. I installed the momo adapter and the steering wheel was practically in my lap. Change to a NRG and works great. You will need to trim a a bit of plastic on the clockspring if you want to retain it.

I have a spare OMP 997 hub, if you need one. As Ryan says, though, its depth plus that of the quick release makes for a very close steering wheel. I had a hub shortened at a fabrication shop for my current set up to get around this.
