Default Blocking vs. defending

Don't think we need to rehash this topic, but attached is a good refresher to keep it in the forefront of your mind. Learning how to "make your car wider" without drawing the ire of your competitor or the scruts is the key.

Skip right to about 18:30 and look for some questionable defending

I did not see anything really egregious until the "hip check" at 19:30. There were a couple of times he could have come down on you or the other guy and did not, but he did have his elbows out.

Yep - the hip check (new phrase for me, I like it) is what I was refering to. No blocking on my end - I was just a passive observer. I'm rather happy the two of them had a good race as it allowed me to get by

That was interesting...and unwise...as it did allow you to get by.

There must have been something in the water, because there was questionable blocking in the DE group as well.

Did you get a point? I didn't see it in the video. He may not have known you were there. It looked like you two were racing.

On the maneuver in T1, I'm grateful it was mentioned several times in the driver's meetings that it could happen. I had a very late pass in a DE session when it appeared the guy was not going to get by me and I held off just in case he took the inside of T1 - he did. I gave him the point, but I didn't lift enough for him, so it was arguably my fault -- I'm just glad I knew enough to watch for it.

Looks like some racing is going on in the OP's video, they came close in T13 but didn't look like contact.

The DE video isn't blocking or defending because no such thing exists in DE, there's only point by or no point by. Orange car waiting to go by Diasio, GT3 drag race ensues, didn't see a point by.

Looking at the Cayman's braking at 19:15 makes me jealous. Those guys were lucky in a few places not to make contact.
Funny, you gotta think the last one you passed was watching his mirrors and trying his best to keep you behind which is why he missed the apex and went off.

+1! 109 keeps his line at 19:30 (nowhere close to the race line) to keep 415 further off of race line. Thus, camera car takes the advantage.

In my view, 415 doesn't work hard enough to maintain the race line and force 109 to back off going into the corners. Same issue (or just too much peeking in both cases) for 415 as the camera car takes the lead.

More than just commenting on how screwed up this looks, is anybody willing to divulge how they would have played this scenario (19:15 to 19:45) different if they were 109? if they were 415?

I'm convinced that guy had no clue you were there as it doesn't seem that he gave you a point by.
