This should be shown to all new corner workers.... NEVER look at the car that just went by you...

WTF was this driver avoiding (there seemed not to be any other car going slower near him)?
Or was he tweeting or something?

Wow. Amazed to hear everyone survived. I never really thought about it, but the Corner workers at pit exit are pretty vulnerable compared to the others in bunkers or towers.

There's another view linked in the comments on the Jalopnik piece. It's hard to see, but it looks like he was avoiding other cars. Not very clear, though.

Looks like the driver didn't see the checker and looked to avoid another car.

Remind me never to get into a wreck in Japan:

- everybody is more preoccupied with the privacy screens than getting the poor guy out of the wreck
- the corner worker should have looked at the cars coming at him, not those that have already passed him (poor guy, hope he was ok)

That was horrifying. I can't believe the driver survived that. When I saw them putting up those white sheets I figured he was gone and then I read the text.
WOW!

And from the tread title I thought you were going to address one of the races last weekend at COTA

Does Suzuka charge more for Armco than CoTA?

OMG!

That worker was moving before the impact... but its never fast enough to get out of the way..

one thing I noticed when I started doing PBOC/PCA/NASA/Chin events, is I rarely see 2 workers at a station... and the workers responsibility it to flag what happens down stream from that station....
