The other video shows it well that he was hauling a$4 and then all of a sudden had to avoid the two other cars slowing down.
Pete nailed it, this has Sato written all over it.

He was really hauling. Anyone wonder if he could have had a stuck throttle? That looked like a full speed hit.

And am I the only guy pulling for Sato in Indy? I love seeing him do well now.

Yikes! A good reminder why you need to pay extra attention after the chequered flag. Suddenly you get big differences in car speeds and in level of attention and cars become unpredictable.

We saw a horrible accident at Dubai Autodrome a couple of years ago when Pascal Grosjean crossed the finish line to take the win in a Sportsbike race. He and second place rider slowed down at the end of the straight and were congratulating each other when Pascal was hit from behind by the third place rider still running flat out. Both riders sustained massive injuries and Pascal died at hospital.

Admittedly bike racing is more prone to injury, but I made a mental note after that to always slow down gradually on the post race lap, not just jump straight off the throttle and start cruising around and be hyper aware of what everyone else is doing.

what's the old corner worker line, "never turn your back on a race car"?
