DE's per Class

Looks like a great thread
I have not seen one for our region...............
Instructor does not say much................
Am quite used to that
I'm not in it to win - my only competition is myself.
I am patient, but getting a bit bored. Sat in on several classes for the next 'step up' and enjoyed that. Our groups are D=Beginner ->C->B->A=Advanced
Saturday he told me I had a perfect run and ran solo Sunday afternoon.
I already know I can do 'flat out'- just want to be sure I have the technique down.
My instructor said he loves the smell of burning brakes

and it's somewhat sad to see the posts from a couple who are no longer with us and a couple who just don't come round here no more.

I've noticed it varies a lot by regions, but in my experience, the instructors will tell you when you should think about moving up. One other thing to keep in mind is that different groups may move at different speeds in different regions (i.e. a yellow group may be faster in one region than a yellow group in another)

Instructors need to stop saying "that was perfect, you can solo now" to Green students so they can go sit around and BS with their buddies. NO green student is even close to perfect. Ever. Of course then there would be less of these posts so never mind...

My pet gripe is the use of color for grouping as their is not consistency between PCA regions. It would make more sense to just use Novice, Intermediate, Advanced and Instructor.

Even if a student makes a "perfect" lap, odds are they are going to screw up somewhere on the next. The concentration required to hit your marks time after time, for 20 minutes or so, is something that has to be developed.
Karen, you've had 1 or 2 DEs? And your instructor let you solo? No offense intended, but I think that's crazy. You or I are not going to learn safely without an instructor in the car.

I understood it in the context it was given - for my level and what I was doing, it was a good run - I AM NOT saying I am perfect - in any way, shape or form.
