Default Lexan windshield and rain

I just replaced the windshield with lexan and was wondering what folks do in the rain. Rain-x and /or wipers?

Curse.

But when I've exhausted that option, I resort to Rain-X, and shaving cream on the inside.

Yep, Rain-x, drive fast and it works. One trick is adding a layer of antifog film to the inside. I was skeptical, but it does work. (before that I had a squeegy/rag on a stick to use on the straights). Prot-tint carries it. PITA to install, but it will always be there when you need it.

i rain-x'd the outside, shaving cream the inside, and used wipers.

Was the only way for the torrential downpours we had at road atlanta!

Shields brand polycarbonate works for me. You can get it with a coating on the front to act like rain-x and much improves scratch prevention and a fog coating on the inside. I have not use one with the anti fog but the front side coating works far better than uncoated. Tear offs will extend the life of the windscreen. if I had wipers I would install tearoffs.

I have the coated Shield brand poly windshield and have not had any problem running wipers on either car. No scratches wear marks etc.
