FYI: I've gotten hooked on SuperSports, they have 80-90% of the grip of MPSCs and don't heat cycle, with a really long tread life. I have 5 days and a few thousand road miles on a set (probably 20-25 heat cycles) and they're still great.

can't say that about MPSC's at the same price (SuperSports are a little cheaper).

Tire Rack now sells Toyos. I'll be ordering a set of shaved RA1's from them shortly.

for 'street' non-rcomp tires google scca ax web sites, most discussions go around new bfg rival, new z2 star specs and new hankooks.
in 'streetable' r-comps not much new stuff to talk about. nt01 nitto is my favorite there. r888 is so-so, new ra01 is not nearly as good as old original one was, i beleive most people suspect it is same r888 compound in the old ra01 tread pattern. i wish that not to be true but from 2 people who used it last season i heard bad comments so i will stick to nt01.

bfg rivals are told to be decently good in rain so it may be ok choice for DE 'do it all' tire but it is not r-comps.

Still don't understand why you guys don't get the Yoko AO50 or the Hankook Z221 tyres up there? Weird.
These are the current best R spec world wide.

z221 is not bad but i need 245/305, 245/315 or 255/315 or 265/335 in 18" for my car considering my 9"/12" CCW 18" rims.
in 19" rims tire choices are even worse.
last season i used 335 RA1 in rear and 275 NT01 in front, still have one set of 335 RA1 but i do not want overstaggered tires for this season.
R888 is only brand really that got decent selection of any sizes buti hate this tire so, it is what it is.

Riiight, yes they're a big rear you've got going on. The Z221 is better than those others you're looking at but sizes are way to small. Does the 335 RA1 not balloon a bit on the 12"s? Anyway, seems like you have very limited choices if you're going to drive to the track. I'd be working out some alternatives to get the best out of the track day. Such a shame Nitto don't listen to their public....

I raced on Dunlop ZII in the wet recently, they were very good and had predictable break away characterstics.

no, 335 sits well on a 12" rim but 275 on a 9" rim is not a best fit. it lacks precision at turn in and even if overall amount of grip in front compensates downsides i still want a bit better feel of a steering so i hope 245 nt01 will give me that.

i will get a trailer eventually but not this summer. may be next one. right now it is just not doable logistically for me and my family.
