Handbrake needed for track stripper?
Currently building track only stripper...
Is handbrake worth keeping?
I was thinking of installing shifter console spacers but requires the removal of handbrake.
Thanks for your help.
All other ideas & considerations towards a well thought out stripper welcomed!

Don't need it for track unless u planning on doing rallies : ). Regarding raising your console with spacers- are u referring to shifter box? You can put cup spacers on with handbrake still in place. Also bear in mind ebrake can save your *** if u start spinning heading towards a wall- yanking up ebrake at point of no return(impending spin) then releasing can redirect car from wall unless other side has a wall : (. Also never know if brake system goes kaput u have ebrake to slow car. I kept mine. Mike

I thought that the handbrake could not be kept based on description off the tarret site...
Note: This is designed to mount directly to the center tunnel, and is not intended to be used with the tunnel interior cover or parking brake lever.

U can't install spacers and retain that center console cover. Handbrake lever and shifter box 2 separate units. U only have the shifter cables between handbrake and shifter. Plenty of room. You are talking about raising the shifter box rt? If so no problem keeping handbrake. Center console gotta go though- it's a stripper u don't need it. Mike

Hand brake is very handy for trailer loading and towing...

FWIW, I put cup (PMNA) spacers under my shifter, could NOT keep ebrake unless that got raised a bit as well. It's easy to do, just use coupling nuts (available at any full service hardware store, cheap) to raise the ebrake lever off the tunnel.

u can keep e brake handle and raise stick, if your tech cannot figure it out, you need new tech.
there is no need to keep the hand brake. my stripper has none. if you really want a stripper, then strip everything. my wiring harness was pulled so 2/3 of the wires are out. 15-20 lbs. maybe more. if the car still drives without it, you don tneed it.

Regarding e-brakes...IMO leave it in. You should use the e brake when putting a car on the trailer. Too many people put their cars in gear, which IMO is unduly risky to the transmission.
