I thnk she was too worried about trying the low lane and then going backwards. But with 1 -2 laps to go, how far back could she have gone and who would care? 2nd is the 1st loser.

I think the bigger decision point was with about 30 laps to go and Johnson was trying the low lane. She should have gone down low in front of him. But shoulda, woulda, coulda...

Overall, she didn't make any mistakes. A good performance.

She drove a good race.

However, I doubt this is any indication of future season performance, as Daytona is more about car setup than individual driver contribution.
Her performance was not surprising given Dale Jr's performance.

The true indication will be as the season progresses. I would expect her to finish outside the "Chase for the Cup"; probably in the top half of the standings if lucky.

Either way, it's as exciting as watching paint dry.

It will be interesting to see how the drivers get a handle on the new cars. maybe all that super awesome talent that finished behind her today are proving they can't adapt as well? Not saying that's true but it's a factor.

I'm dizzy from watching the cars go 'round and 'round.

if danica would have crashed, there would have been 10 more pages by now. Fact that she done good kept the h8rs away. She could have led every lap and won and the h8trs would have said it's only one race. It's not gonna change anytime soon.

Good read.

"Is she a future Sprint Cup Champion? No. She's a solid mid-packer who knows her strengths and plays to them. Given the car, she can (and does) mix it with the very best. When we see Danica, many just see a Go Daddy girl; but she's more than that. She's a gutsy racer, unafraid to bang fenders with anyone. And while she's no Smoke, she works hard and deserves success. In my opinion, she's earned her pole position at Daytona." Alex Lloyd

Top 10 all day, solid performance ... Doesn't seem to justify the hype IMHO.
