Default Mount Fuel Jug holder on Open Trailex?

All,

I would like to mount something to the side of my open trailex trailer to hold the fuel jugs so I can get them out of the tow vehicle. Has anyone come up with a good way of doing this? I was thinking right behind the trailer wheel on the side or at the front 'V' of the trailer.

Any success in doing this? How many jugs are being supported and where was it mounted? Can you point me to the container you use or post a pic or two?

Thanks,

-Skip

I had a 3 jug holder at the front of my trailex, on the V if you will. I sold it a while back, so no pictures, but I got 4 of the trailex t bolts, slid them in the channels, drilled 4 holes in the jug holder, and just bolted it on. I used this http://www.pitproducts.com/fujugratrmo.html because it had a solid bottom and therefore less flexible than others that were meant for enclosed use and just have a small rim on bottom to hold jugs

Skip;

I did exactly the same on my Trailex. Pit Pal jug holders bolted on the side rails between the axles and the tire rack vertical support. Have used it for 3 or for years, works great. I just run a large dia bungee through the handles of the jugs to secure.

not the best picture, but you can see where they are in this. I just used the trailex boplts and put some big washers on the inside of the holder.

I had one of these two-jug holders mounted in the V...and loved it so much, I added a three-jug holder recently.

Does anyone mount them on the inside of the V at the front? I have the canvas fairing and winch on mine, and it would be great if they would fit.

I mounted one rack on each side of the "V" so I can carry 4 jugs. I bought mine from Stable Energies in NJ

I had the windscreen also, and just used the existing bolts on the bottom rail to mount it

Follow up to this. I ordered this from Pitpal and got 6 bolts from Trailex. More expensive than others but well made and I can lock two round VP jugs.

Custom build just need to call and ask for fuel jug holder with locking bar to fit Trailex open trailer. Locking bar well worth extra cost. Just measure and drill 3/8 holes.
