Every problem I have seen, my own and other's, were on the rear of high hp rear engined P-cars. I have never had a problem with any front R6. I've also never had a problem with the rears with Nitto or MPSC, same settings, although more narrow due to available sizes.

Given your weight distribution, the significantly less weight on the rear tires may be a factor compared to mine. I'm at #3300 with me in it, and probably have closer to 41/59 weight distribution, so #1400 vs #1947, or 39% more weight on my rear tires.

The heavier cars had the same problem with the Michelin DOT race tires about 11 years ago. Michelin claimed it was that the tires did not have enough load capacity, people were running too low profile of a tire. A heavy 911 needs a tall rear tire for more support - the RSR uses a 710 rear tire, I have used that size in Hoosier and Michelin (both slicks) with no problems.

Just another data point...

A tires load carrying capacity is directly related to the volume of air in it.

My 993 is slightly lighter than stock. It was 272 HP 18 years ago

Has anyone tracked the date codes on the failed tires? Both my failed ones are 1411.

I think Hoosier

NNJR PCA had some Hoosier tire issues last year running the bowl at Pocono I believe. When I run the bowl I increase my tire pressures. Like Matt said "
