Default REGISTRATION NOW OPEN for Hudson Valley Region Unmuffled DE @ Lime Rock

Hudson Valley Region, PCA is pleased to announce its 2013 Driver's Education Schedule.

Registration is open as of February 14, 2013. Register via http://www.clubregistration.net

Tuesday, April 9, 2013 we will be at Lime Rock Park. This is an all day event but will be UNMUFFLED in the afternoon. (Yes it will be muffled in the AM) For those who plan to attend the PCA Club race (which is unmuffled), this event affords you an opportunity to drive at Lime Rock prior to the club race without worrying about the noise police. We intend to configure the schedule in such a way as to maximize track time for advanced drivers with unmuffled cars. If enough drivers register, we will consider purchasing an extra hour from 5PM to 6PM to provide even more track time.

July 29, 2013 will be our second event at Lime Rock Park. A traditional muffled DE with 4 run groups.

As always our events at Lime Rock will not be shared with the Lime Rock Club.

Our Third and final track event will be our Advance/Novice "Driving in to Fall" annual at Watkins Glen International on August 28 & 29, 2013. (Novice Group gets 2 hours of track time per day - the remainder of the day is open track for Advanced Drivers) Intermediate drivers will be placed into the novice group unless we receive confirmation from a chief instructor that they posses sufficient skills to allow them to drive in the advanced group.

We will post when registration opens.

The new registrar and track chair for our Region is Kevin Challacombe.

Lou, is the April 9 event an 'advanced' DE or 'regular' one?

Yes, please post details on the April event when you can. If it's an advanced day then it might make it worth the tow for an afternoon.

+993 for Driving Into Fall. Terrific event. (followed by ESR Ferrari club followed by chin, for a 7 day WGI labor day extravaganza)

Lou, heard you were done being HVR track chair. Passed the keys on to someone else, so to speak. Glad to see that's not true!

In answer to some of the questions posed:
This will be a regular DE with instructed students, so we will need instructors - who will pay a lower price. I intend to work with Kevin (the new track chair/registrar) to schedule the run groups in such a way so that the novice/instructed students have completed most of their driving in the morning, which will allow for more unmuffled time for advanced drivers in the afternoon.

For those who haven't driven with HVR recently, we have tended to combine run groups throughout the day in order to maximize track time for all.

Below is a copy of the schedule from one of our events last year. This is included solely as a sample. I'm sure that the schedule for our April 2013 event will be different, yet similar.

The number of drivers who register as "unmuffled" will also factor in the final schedule. As noted above, if the amount of registrants justifies it, we will consider purchasing an extra "unmuffled" hour from 5PM to 6PM.

Yes, I'm stepping aside. Kevin is taking over.

Hi Lou,
Thanks for all your many years of excellent DE excitement and additional great track time added to the run groups. Can't wait for the LRP event to get here
with the non mufflered track time, so I can test my new Fab Speed High Flow Cat system !

Your the best,

Mark
