My workplace just released our leave calendar for 2013, and I got Feb 22 & 25 off, giving me enough time to trailer to Sebring. I signed up and got accepted in 2 hours! Yippee.

Now all I have to do is get the car put back together.

What's the motel/hotel of choice?

Must be the kick *** registrar!
The most convenient is the Chateau Elan, right at the track. It's ok, about like a Hampton Inn, but with a bar. Inn on the Lakes is supposed to be better, it's 10-15 minutes away.

That was you? Thanks!

Bad news is that I just took a close look at my leave calendar: in the fine print, it says I might not get Friday, Feb 22 off.

In which case I'm still coming, I just might be a little late and sleep deprived.

So we are trying something new at this event. At our region Yellow is the solo group and red is the instructor group. We have passing zones in yellow and expanded passing in red, as per the National guidlines. At this event, any yellow driver who has at least 5 PCA track days in the solo group can choose to run in any red or yellow session. Or all red and yellow sessions. This is the same choice given the instructors. If you look at it below, that means LOTS of track time (3+45 if I added correctly). Plus you can run for an hour or more with a 5 minute break to re-grid since the sessions are back to back. The last red session on Sunday in November was empty. It was like having a private track...I still have room for more yellow drivers for this event!

Green only gets three run sessions per day?

Most students are really tired after classroom stuff and 3 sessions. The learning curve drops significantly after that.

OK, in NH the pca runs four sessions but no classroom and the Chin event I went to had four sessions plus a classroom. I just assumed four sessions was typical. I did enjoy the classroom session at Chin and found them helpful.

The other problem is that to get 4 sessions for green and blue, we would have to shorten the time of the sessions. With a 3.7 mile track, less than 30 minutes doesn't make sense. Green and Blue would be getting too few laps per session.

Falcondrvr, IMHO you guys always run a first class event. Thank you! ... I'm one of those "yellow" group drivers that had the option of running in red. I like the evolutionary progression and the fact that you guys are actually paying attention, and looking at experience as a discriminator. I was only able to run on Saturday, lots of cars on the track, but other than the Boxster mishap in the first yellow session...smooth, smooth, smooth. Love to attend your events.

Well run event there Mr. Falcondrivr

Had a blast - as usual. It was a little warm - but that also made my tires nice and sticky sticky....
