Looking forward to Friday.
Ferrari have confirmed that their 2013 challenger will be called the F138.
The name is derived from the current year, 2013, and the number of cylinders in the new model, 8.
The car is the 59th Ferrari single-seater to do battle in F1 and will be launched on Friday.

Saturday 2 February at 04:35 : Feb.2 (GMM) Rory Byrne, Ferrari legendary former chief designer, was at the launch of the team's 2013 car at Maranello on Friday.
He told Auto Motor und Sport he is actually "working full steam" on the Italian team's project for the 2014 car, which will be powered by the all-new turbo V6 rules.
"It's a nice car," the South African - referring to the newly-launched F138 - laughed, "but it's all child's play compared to what awaits us in 2014."
Until then, Ferrari has the 2013 title to win after a so far five-year championship drought, and boss Stefano Domenicali confirmed that his designers have adopted some "extreme solutions" to compete with Red Bull.
"We are just waiting for Newey to complain about our rear suspension," Auto Motor und Sport quoted a team insider.
The German report said the insider is referring to the rear profile that duplicates the 2012 Red Bull -- only more extremely.

I listened to the Ferrari guys being interviewed on the car. Because of the late start, it sounds like they're completely up in the air about how the car will perform. I know that's the norm with F1 teams but they sounded a bit more unsure of where they stood than usual. From an aesthetic standpoint, there's too much black paint on the car. Needs to look more like the Destroyer of Worlds...I mean Championship Dreams...

The new Ferrari looks fast sitting still. Interesting air intake design.
This just has to be the year for Alonso and Ferrari. If he wins it, it will be like the Beatles coming to America...there won't be a dry Tifosi panty anywhere on RL.
Curious to see how RBR divides Newey's time between the 2013 and 2014 cars.
Ferrari have gone the McLaren route (2 development teams), but you can't duplicate Newey.

Those Autosprint guys must have been asleep for the whole 2012 season:
Schumacher #2 of all time ahead of Clark and Senna?
At least they gave Prost and Lauda some props, I'd put either ahead of any 1994-2012 WDC.
p.s.
Vetell under pressure.... not top 10 worthy. In fact I'd take Hamilton, Alonso or Kimi over him any day if all four are running nose to tail, in the rain with 10 laps to go.

He's equal, way up there, with Newey. First did the dominating car at Benetton and then at Ferrari.
People bitch Vettel not winning anything without Newey, look at Schumi without Byrne... Same amount of Championships for both (= zero).
If/since he's FULLY focused on developing the 2014 car, that is huge news for Ferrari, I expect nothing but an absolute top car.

Well Bernie did a smooth move by hyping New Jersey and in typical fashion Jersey oversold the timeline. And Bernie over extorted venues so nobody would make a deal with F1. There are only going be 19 races this year. Funny how one rapes venues and they do not jump at an opportunity to line Bernie's pockets.

The book "No Angel" provides some fascinating insights into Bernie.
