Default Is Sebring a good spectator track?

I happen to be in Tampa for the weekend and found out there is a PCA DE running this weekend at Sebring.

Since I've never been to the track I thought I might head that way for a couple of hours and see the action.

The question is, is Sebring a decent track to be a DE spectator? Or will I be disappointed by my lack of access since I only have Hyundai rental car with me?

Great spectator track. You have exceptional access. Bring a bike if you can.

Saturday is Instructor / Solo only training/lapping, so there might be some downtime of not much action on the track. Sunday is a regular DE. Not sure if they still do it, but they were offering a Taste of the Track deal where for something like $20 you can ride a couple of hot laps with an instructor. You will have access to most of the track for viewing.

Thanks! Unfortunately unless they rent bikes there I'll have to hike it.

Bummer as I was planning on going Saturday. Sunday I'm going to try and catch a Bucs game!

I will be out at track both days if you come out on Saturday look me up I will probably have a pit stall if you ask someone where Rich the past CTI is parked someone should know. If they have track touring at lunch time on Saturday I can take you around the track in my car will not be at speed but gives you a good view of track from inside the car.

It's a great track for spectators when you have full access. Not sure about PCA events, but Chin events only allow limited access to entire track, which is too bad. Maybe someone else will chime in wrt access to PCA events.

I've never been to a DE or Club Race at Sebring where there was limited access (including Chin).

HSR is running at Daytona all weekend. I was there yesterday and there are some really spectacular cars there. A Le Mans winning Audi R8, a ton of Porsches, a good amt of cup cars, etc.. Daytona is about 30 min further than Sebring.

By limited access, I'm talking about access to all portions of the track via vehicle or on foot. For example, during Chin events, visitors are not allowed on the inside of turn 7.

Spectator track? you got to be kidding! No Bleachers! you will need some sort of transportation inside the circuit to enjoy the track, and it could get expensive by renting golf cart, etc.,the last time and only time there were stands I think it was on '99 or '2000!, so from a spectator standpoint to see the whole track at the same time (or part of it)is no Daytona.,cheers, Sonny1.

Different strokes...

Favorite spots: Bleachers at Bishops (can see from tower to T16), Bleachers at entry to T17, Outside of T1.

Enjoy!

the dark ovals are dirt/grass berms where you can stand or sit and see quite a bit of the track.

but you have to cross into green park between sessions. there is a bridge but its not usually open for DEs.

bring a hat!

some areas will be closed for safety, like T1-T3

Thanks everyone. I'm meeting some friends in the morning so if I go it'll be later in the afternoon. I'll figure out if I have enough time to head that way before it gets too dark.

uscarrera - thanks for the offer! By the way that is an absolute gorgeous 993! It almost looks too pretty to track!
